About Us

The Australian Coffee Centre is open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm.

Perched on the apex of the Great Dividing Range around 527 metres above sea level, the Centre is located at the edge of the 360 acre Skybury coffee plantation and is a place where visitors can tour, taste and take home some of the world's purest Arabica coffee.

The two storey timber centre, constructed atop an impressive granite outcrop, features a 140 seat restaurant, licensed bar, coffee laboratory, gift shop, and Coffee Cinema where up to 54 guests view the region's first high definition movie featuring the history of coffee and Skybury on a 6m x 3m curved screen. The superb timbers and woodwork features inside the centre are a testament to the skills of local craftspeople and artisans. The Centre is the work of award winning Eacham builder Jon Nott. The Long Table in the coffee laboratory which is used in the coffee roasting and tasting tours, is made from a single piece of Tallow over four metres in length!!

Outside, visitors can stroll through a section of the coffee plantation, see a coffee harvester close up, and enjoy the dry temperate climate in acres of native gardens. Birdlife is prolific in the gardens and bush surrounding The Australian Coffee Centre, and the Skybury team have included a generously-sized soft release pen where recovering native wildlife can be re-introduced to Bushland surroundings.

The Skybury Plantation produced the first commercial crop of coffee in Australia and was the first to export 'green' coffee with their inaugural shipment going to Japan back in 1990. Skybury Coffee continues to be exported around the world. In creating a world first, world class coffee-themed attraction, the MacLaughlin family are taking their passion for coffee and their love of hospitality to a new and exciting level.

The Gift Shop sells roasted and ground coffee in different size packs amongst other coffee goodies. You can also order Skybury coffee online.

The fully licensed restaurant serves meals throughout the day.

This stunning building is available for functions catering from 20 to 200 people for day and night events are bookable.

The family business includes co-directors Ian and Marion MacLaughlin and daughter Candy MacLaughlin. For further information on how Ian and Marion discovered coffee and set up Skybury, click here.
