The Australian Coffee Centre is able to provide media and travel industry contacts with a wide array of information, images and packages. We are actively involved in the visiting journalist program in conjunction with industry partners and independently.

  • The centre is open daily from 9am until 5pm with an onsite restaurant operating for morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas. Admission to the centre is free.
  • The Australian Coffee Centre is a new, multi-million tourism attraction located on the Atherton Tableland/Cairns Highlands which opened in April 2006.
  • The Centre is situated on Skybury Coffee's plantation, and is owned by the MacLaughlin family; principals Ian and Marion MacLaughlin are co-directors and founders of Skybury Coffee.
  • Skybury Coffee is an 18 year old business producing and exporting Arabica coffee from a 360 acre plantation near Mareeba (1 ¼hours drive from Cairns, Queensland, Australia).
  • Some 90% of Australian coffee is grown on the Tablelands, and 80% of that is produced by Skybury Coffee which currently has an annual crop of around 120 tonnes.
  • The Australian Coffee Centre is an air-conditioned, fully licensed venue constructed on two levels featuring native Australian timbers, wrap-around wooden verandahs, and breathtaking scenic views.
  • It features a 140 seat restaurant, licensed bar, coffee laboratory, a gift shop and a 54 seat cinema with a 6x m 3m curved screen, plus an enclosure for recovering native wildlife.
  • Guided coffee tours encompassing coffee trees, wet and dry factories, a coffee harvester, the coffee cinema and the coffee lab run at regular intervals throughout the day. The centre has separate car and coach parking facilities, all person access.
